Grouse Mountain
Friday, March 04, 2011 | Grouse MountainOn March 04th, Dorset College held a snowshoe/ski/ snowboard activity at Grouse Mountain. Dorset arranged for the student’s mountain lift ticket, equipment rental, and ski/snowboard lesson or guided wilderness snowshoe tour. For many students this was their first time on Ski Mountain and was a good opportunity to participate in local activities and culture.
The Grouse Mountain ski/snowboard/snowshoe activity was a great success with a total of 90 students and faculty participating in the event. Weather at the top of the mountain was overcast and new snow made conditions perfect for the activities. For many students this was their first experience skiing or snowboarding or snowshoeing, and they overcame the challenge. Even when they fell down – they just got back up. For some they must have felt like they were flying faster than a bird. At the end of the day everybody returned home safely with only a few aching muscles.
