Diploma in Business Administration (University Transfer)  

 

Cape Breton University (CBU) in Sydney, Nova Scotia, has established an articulation agreement with Dorset College in Vancouver, British Columbia. Students at Dorset College, who have completed the Diploma in Business Administration (University Transfer) Program, may transfer to the Bachelor of Business Administration Degree Program at Cape Breton University provided that they have successfully completed the following 20 required courses at Dorset College.

SOCI 150 Sociology II STAT 250 Statistics II

 

Note: Students must complete each of the 20 required courses at Dorset College with a minimum grade of 60% (except for both English 100 and English 150, in which students must achieve a minimum grade of 65%). In addition, students must complete all 20 required university courses with a minimum overall grade point average of 70% in order to be eligible to transfer to Acadia University.

Students can obtain a Dorset College Diploma in Business Administration by completing the above 20 courses.

Diploma in Business Studies (University Transfer) 

Students at Dorset College, who have completed the Diploma in Business Studies (University Transfer) Program, may transfer to the Bachelor of  Hospitality & Tourism Management Degree Program at CBU provided they have successfully completed the following 15 required courses at Dorset College.

Campus Life at CBU

CBU makes its home in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality, the largest urban center on Cape Breton Island. With the many facilities and venues located on campus, there are always a lot of great events to go to and a lot of fun activities to do. Facilities at CBU includes: student residence, library, fitness center, campus pub, bookstore, playhouse, art galleries, an Olympic-size ice rink, convenience stores and much more.

Are you interested in future opportunities in a variety of careers accessed or aided by a Bachelor of Business Administration degree? Time spent studying business is time well spent. The BBA at CBU will prepare you to analyze a business situation, identify alternative responses and resolve business difficulties. If you intend to have a career in any of the professions, in private sector or public sector management, or intend to run your own business a BBA degree will help develop and sharpen your business skills. Programs within the BBA core courses place an emphasis on a broad range of business topics – accounting, marketing, finance, human resources, and economics. You have the option to study elective courses in many areas including: law, tourism, IT, the arts, health, sports, sciences, engineering
