The Dorset/Royal Roads University Transfer Program


Royal Roads University (RRU) is located in Victoria, on Vancouver Island, off Canada’s west coast province of British Columbia. The campus is a 565-acre national historic site, internationally renowned for its formal gardens and heritage Hatley Castle. Royal Roads provides lifelong learning and career development for bright, motivated individuals so they can meet and lead change in the workplace, the community and society. Students will complete 20 courses at Dorset College to obtain a Diploma of Business Administration before transferring to Royal Roads University to take additional 20 courses to graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Students can take any 20 courses out of the 26 courses that are recognized by Royal Roads University with the following courses required by RRU: ACCT 200, ACCT 250, COMM 200, ENGL 100, ENGL 150, MARK 200, MGMT 200, MGMT 250, PHIL 100 and PHIL 150.

RRU’s Bcomm program focuses on the rapidly changing global economic environment and the opportunities for entrepreneurial activity. Much of the program is delivered through case analysis in a team setting where students develop critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills. The result is intra- and entrepreneurial- leadership combined with management skills that translate theory into practice. The program enables students to be successful innovators, be it in new businesses or in implementing new ideas in established organizations. Students are required to have working experience to be eligible to transfer.
