On November 18th Mr. Shea McInnis, the Director of Marketing and Recruitment at Cape Breton University (CBU) gave a seminar at Dorset.  University Transfer and Academic Preparation students were able to learn more about CBU and its programs.

On Oct. 31st, Dorset College held its first Halloween Costume Contest on campus. On Sep 22th, Dorset had its Fall Orientation attended by both students and teachers. The students were introduced to the instructors of the College and reminded about some important policies of the school. After the information session, students and teachers were treated to pizza and refreshments.

On July 15th, Dorset holds the annual College BBQ at Prospect Point Picnic Area in Stanley Park. There was a variety of food and refreshments to enjoy as well as sports, games and entertainment offered. Over 100 Dorset students, instructors, and administrators were in attendance.

On July 8th, Dorset students and administration, visited Trinity Western University and were treated to a lunch and tour of the campus. Students also met with the Vice Provost Dr Phil Laird.

Dorset College’s singing contest “Dorset Idol”. At the final round of Dorset College’s singing contest “Dorset Idol” was held March 25, 2011. Students and teachers participated in this Japan Tsunami Aide benefit where $ 2, 132 was raised and sent to the Japanese Consulate in Vancouver.

On March 18th at 1:00 pm, the last Workshop for the semester entitled: Emotional Intelligence (EI) was held by Ms. Fernanda Souza. On March 04th, Dorset College held a snowshoe/ski/ snowboard activity at Grouse Mountain. Dorset arranged for the student’s mountain lift ticket, equipment rental, and ski/snowboard lesson or guided wilderness snowshoe tour. For many students this was their first time on Ski Mountain and was a good opportunity to participate in local activities and culture. The …
